I cant even imagine what most of those cards full load temperatures were, they would have to all been running damn near close 100C even with fans cranked (sound like an airplane in your room)

Ahhh yes, I can see those with nice EK WB's on my 4-way Classified board....all I need is a few $k for the cards, blocks, a 2nd 1000w PSU, a rad from a compact car and a couple of pumps and its off to the races

A quad GTX480 system is a complete waste. There is no need for that kind of power for any reason, and the power consumption would be astronomical. Even Folding@home isn't a justification since it doesn't support those cards yet.

Of course its a complete waste!....yer point would be what?....lol....if I had the coin I'd give it a go just for chits & giggles then either sell a couple of the 480's or build a couple more rigs to sell, but that won't happen since like most people I don't have a few $k just kickin' around..lol

And even it did these cards are too power hungry.

Maybe he wants to play Crysis at 16x AA at 2560 x 1600, maxed without going below 60 FPS.
