Default Is it okay to put a 5450 in a PCI express 1.0X16 slot?
Hello, I am doing an upgrade for my fathers computer because the current video card sounds like the fan is going to fall off. The 5450 seems like a good choice because it is fanless so it will be nice and quiet, and all he needs to do is look at pictures, word documents and maybe youtube videos. The motherboard in the PC has PCI expressX16 slots, and I see this card wants a PCI express 2.0 X16 slot. I know I can physically put the card in, but will it work?

Yes. All PCI-E 2.0 cards currently on the market are backwards-compatible with PCI-E 1.x.
