HD5870 with 8800GTS for PhysX

Well it was the 8800GTS that was breaking overclocking for the ATI card. W/ a GTX285 I can clock the ATI perfectly fine.

I may have to throw it in this machine as well. I removed the BigNG automated fan controller as I need it for another system. This has caused my fans to run 100% all the time causing my POS HD5970 to drop below 40C. Even w/ the GTX285 folding 24/7 I can't keep the HD5970's temperatures high enough. As soon as I start to game the system locks up. The problem is that my Antec 1000W Quattro only has 4 8/6pin PCIe connectors. And it only has two slots for SATA/Molex cables. Both of which have all its connectors used. So I have no way to power the 8800GTS. So until I can make myself some new cables it looks like I won't be gaming.

I don't have two spare molex open unfortunately. I am going to see if I can just get one of the HD5970's cores to fold as well. But that is a problem. Since it will crash if it starts folding below 40C.

hmm my gtx460 just arrived in the mail. Seeing as its a newer card i dont think i can use those broken beta drivers so i am going to hopefully try the way outlined here with my hd5870

Let us know how it goes, and post some benches! Would be interesting to compare a GTX460 for PhysX to my 8800GTS 320MB.
