You'll have to get the "broken" 257.15 drivers, as the version on Nvidia's site supposedly has been changed to disable Physx upon detection of an ATI card again.

dam nvidia! Why. Oh well it is on the internet so it is unstoppable now.

You guys let me now how it all works out. If physx goes anywhere and ATI has a much better card than I would be highly interested.

you mean one could in theory maybe possibly remotely making an error or maybe not to perhaps possibly maybe get the bad drivers somewhere like here : Download NVIDIA GeForce/ION 257.15 Beta Drivers - Adds several performance increments and new features - Softpedia

install them and face issues like being able to unfortunately run both ati and nv together without the blessing i mean terrible hacks that seem to be popular with some on the net? :)

I downloaded the 257.15 drivers straight from the NVIDIA site no problems getting the driver. But alas I could not get the driver to cooperate with Physx. Everything looked like it worked out okay but I couldn't get Batman to work kept crashing. Also I think my PSU is a little light for this setup and that maybe causing problems too. The worst thing is that in Win 7 it keeps trying to install the latest drivers automatically which is a pain. I set the system to not do auto driver installs but for whatever reason on restart Win 7 began updating the Nvidia drivers.

When I get my Enermax Revoulution next week I'll try again I'm afraid of crapping out this PSU if I keep it hooked up much longer. I'll try the method mentioned by the OP with the patch he recommended.

Nice post man, didn't know this kind of tech existed ;) Although, does anyone reckon its actually worth while investing in? I mean last I heard, there weren't too many titles supporting PhysX.

if your game can use physx acceleration and you dont have a top dog nv as mains? yup.
it looks like tehres a number out there, people talk about hacks. dont bother with the hacks(to get the game to use physx)

if its worth the extra juice out the wall and heat in your room? that, only you can answer :)

I stand by my suggestion and say, if you have a capable NVIDIA card lying around, go ahead and use it. However I wouldn't suggest investing any money into getting PhysX to work with your ATI card. Unless you play one of the few PhysX games extensively, I see no point.

Just a FYI but the download link on that softpedia site links back to the nVidia FTP site anyways... so if it has been fixed this isnt really an alternative way of obtaining it. (not to say these wont work, as I have not tested them myself yet)
