My System Specs

Cool 8800GTS XXX 320Mb vs. 8800GT 512Mb both oc'ed

I've decided to merge two of my 3Dmark06 posts to compare both cards. First, the XFX and the Quad @ 3.6.

Second, the 8800GT and the Quad @ 3.15.

Ummm 13,000 with a quad? Something is not right there.. I get 13,000 in 06 with my e6600 so your system should be above that by at least another 2,000 or so.

He is using Vista too, so that may account for it. And it's closer to 14000 is it not?

Default what version of rivatuner is that?

I was just wondering what Rivatuner you were using to access the shaderclocks. I have 2.03 and only get the core and memory.
hell of an OC on that 8800GT BTW.

Yah but a 1,000 difference in scores between us? That makes me think these 8800 GTs have a max throughput and no matter whats behind it will make a difference.

That is Rivatuner 2.06! Anyways...that's what it looked like to me....LOL I've used it yesterday and I managed to get my 8800 GTS 640Mb to 702/1724/1044MHz. The only thing I DO NOT like, is that there is not really a possibility to FINE-tune those precious MHz steps.

Another thing though...I did 11.642 in 3DMark06 Pro: 5418 on SM2.0, 5580 on SM3.0 and 2493 on CPU tests...

Now can you explain the difference?

enaberif, for 13817 points I used the 8800GT and the Quad @ 3.15Ghz, not 3.6Ghz. That may explain the low number. What was your set-up?
magictorch and Prof.: yes, it is Rivatuner 2.06, which is fully compatible with the 8800GT. As for the OC, I'm not done yet...

Mines only a e6600 at 3.4 ghz and I found it was the CPU test that was throttling me back. But I figured with a better processor you should be able to score much higher.. maybe Vista makes that much difference.

Latest test, with the Quad back at 3.6Ghz. GPU oc stabilized, had a small artifact error after 1hour+ with AtiTool.
