I have found that a small artifact in ati tool (especially after 1 hour) does not mean artifacts in any other benches and games. I'd say you are at a safe OC unless you get artifacts in games and benches too. Lookin good! Let's see some Crysis demo comparisons and other good stuff.

Yes but even 1 small artifact means the card is pushed beyond its "Safe" limits and needs to be backed off.

But that's just one tool reporting an artifact. And I think ATI Tools fuzzy cube thing is harder on your card than 3DMark or any games. That's just what I have found anyways. My 7900GS had small artifact in ATI Tool but never had an issue in any game or benchmark at 630/906 on air.

Which I did: 5 Mhz - that's all it took.

Crysis demo runs coming up in 1 hour. As for the results, ask and you shall receive...

Interesting, seems its not an artifact but a rendering issue... hmmmmmmm this make me wonder about my xfx and how far I can push it because when I saw the yellow I would stop!

Clarification: for me artifact means delta error, when the AtiTool timer resets.

Crysis demo runs, 4 loops, with Quad at 3.6 and the 8800GT oced with the same numbers.

First, GPU test: avg 35.17 fps over 4 loops.

Second, CPU test: avg 32.35 fps over 4 loops.

Your FPS in the Proxycon and Forest is low for that card something is still holding it back.

Charlie,

Any chance you have a comparison of the OC'd 8800GTS XXX vs. the stock 8800GT?

Also, did you record GPU temps during the various tests?

Thanks in advance!
