Default New 5870 on the way.

I have a new sapphire 5870 video card on the way, at the time I could care less what it looked like as long as it had the same or better specs then the stock card.
The problem is the site I bought it from showed a picture of a radeon box but no card in the picture, I never realized that sapphire might not stick to the stock design of the 5870 . Can anyone tell me if there is any real difference in the various sapphire radeon boards, the site lists the board as Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E *W2 SKU: VC-SAP-11161-01-40R Manuf. Id: 840777045268
. Even with that info I cannot be sure what the card looks like!?!? and this might cause space issues mounting the card in my case depending on where the power connectors are on this card and if the pcb is any longer or shorter... Did anyone here buy this card?

This would be my best guess.

Did a google search for the manufacturer UPC. (840777045268)

Buy the Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 PCIe w/Eyefinity at TigerDirect.ca

Did a google search for the manufacturer I.D. ( 11161-01-40R )

My System Specs

Default many models

I did the same search and although I got that one, the model numbers didn't match. I kept on digging (regrettably) and found many sites have conflated model numbers and code #'s. Plus, Sapphire's site lists many HD5870 models but without numbers.
I don't know which model you are getting (athough I'm guessing it's the gamer ed 11161-01-50R) but you are getting a great card nonetheless. Enjoy

Not according to the manufacturers I.D listed on the site he bought from. 11161-01-40R Once you eliminate the 2 GB models and the toxics and vapour models it doesn't leave a lot of choice.

Sure, I see your point. I'm only guessing that there is more mixed up with the #'s (not very helpful I know).

Maybe I have nothing to do but I decided to play detective for the OP, too.

If you type in the google search box: hd radeon 5870 w2

You get the first hit for shopbot and upon clicking that, you get that box picture and the 'reference' design shroud version. Pc Cyber is listed, too. It's no guarantee but I guess there's only two choices since only two have that box.
