Exclamation Help with ATI5850 Black edition VS GTX260 (196 cores), Have a chance to get the ATI
There is a person selling a ATI5850 Black edition for 300 Bucks Canadian.
Now i need to know how much real FPS Gain i can expect to see with the ATI GPU VS my GTX260(196 Core). Keep in mind that my GTX260 Overclocks pretty good on air, 702 Mhz Core
1404 Mhz Shaders
1240 Mhz Mem clock (2480 Effective)

I am only bringing up my Overclock because I do not want the ATI 5850 compared to stock GTX260 Results.
And according to this page (With my GPU Overclocked to close to the same speeds), I am close to the GTX285 in Crysis 285

Gigabyte GTX 260 (216SP) 896MB Super Overclock Review

But I am unsure how well the ATI5850 stacks up to GTX285
I do not want this to turn into anything other than pure performance post.
Who is faster in most games, And by how much
Lets keep it clean guys. I just have a chance to pick this Bad boy up for a good deal. Just would like to know besides the DX11 stuff, Is the ATI worth it. Yes there is the whole DX11 issue. But i am just concerned with Raw FPS guys.

thats a good price. if your card does the job already, then dont buy it. what fps increases you ll see? no idea exact numbers wise.

Well, My card is starting to run out of Gas with these newer games like Metro 2033 and Stalker COP. Not to mention the next wave of DX11 games. I want a DX11 GPU.
Plus I can still get something for my GTX260. If I wait much longer it will be worth nothing:(

If Dx11 is the worry then just go buy the 5850.

As a rough estimate, I'd say my 5850 runs at ~ 2x the f/ps that my 260 did (1920 x 1200).
p.s. DX11 / tessellation looks great to me and that's the stuff I like to see; so the upgrade was worth it 4 me.

I've switched from EVGA GTX 260 216SP to Sapphire HD5850. Unfortunately I'm not an OC-er nor a framerate hunter but I'm perfect satisfied with ATI. Enough FPS's for me, cold, silent, decent power consumption in load and as a STALKER fan I was VERY happy with DX11 and Tessellation ON.
As a side note I also was satisfied by my EVGA but after more than 10 years on green side I was curious to see how's on red side. For now is nice.
