yes an active display port adapter is needed, i do notice the odd flicler of the screen on the display port monitor but it happens at random and not that often. if you got any other question let my know.

You have had no issues such as that?
In some cases the power from the USB port that the active adapter will not be enough to keep the adapter on, causing the connected monitor to loose signal at inopportune moments. Fixes can be to either plug into a different port and try it there, or get a AC wall-wart to USB made for charging and plug it into there. I use the latter option (never tried without) using a 5v 1000mA AC-to-USB adapter.

hmm.... i will have to try that, all i need is an usb extention cable.

Radiosha-- i mean "The Source", lol. Belkin Dual USB Charger | Cables, chargers & adapters | TheSource.ca

But you can probably find one thats less expensive easily, that's only an example. Still though, I'd probably recommend At Least 500-600mA, i just took a 1000mA one to be safe, heh.
