I'd say C) for me, but I'll be completely satisfied if I don't have any more driver issues (10.3 seems much better so far).

I purchased a 5850 Toxic off the boards and its completely enough for my needs as the 470 has proven too power hungry and hot for my needs even with the higher benches. Looks like I'm good for a while!

I'm thinking of a GTX 470 for folding. I would watercool it, or buy the Evga pre-watercooled card (which just uses one slot). I am thinking it would get me ~10K PPD, but thats pure guessing and speculation on my part.

I'd hope it would get you more then 10k as an overclocked GTX260 can get you 8-9k, use less power and costs half the price too.

Its b for me, going to be upgrading since the cost to performance just isn't there in my mind. To me i see the 5870 beating out the gtx470 in most reguards at the resolutions i game at, and i can get one used (5870) for less then a new gtx470 (before taxes) or a brand new 5870 for only 20$ (plus taxes).

True if your 260 has a good shader OC. I am thinking that the 470 will do ~10K, based on the 13-15K I have seen reported for the 480.

Will be interesting to see what actually happens when folders get their hands on the cards, and what happens when the folding core is updated. Also I wonder how F@H performance scales with the additional shaders on the 400 series.

Again, all speculation until April winds its way down which is why I have to wait, but I will most likely get the 470.

Actually i have 2 different GTX 260s from 2 different companies which are also two different models/revisions and both overclock to the same point and produce 8-9k ppd each (when i was folding)

I may get one around xmas, if 3d surround is good. There is basically zero benefit to me right now. With my SLI 260's @ 720/1630 I'm around the same performance. I run vsync and could care less whether I get 135 or 150 fps in game.

dx11 meh. Still waiting for a proper dx10 game. All we have seen are dx9 codepath engines with dx10/11 shaders.

Option C) for me, I just went with three Radeon 5770s (two in Crossfire in my gaming rig, and one for the HTPC) and have nothing to complain about as they are fast, cool and quiet while being very affordable.

My only real gripe is that I wish they were better at Folding but that's what the somewhat noisy and toasty GTX260s that the 5770s replaced are for now.

e) Watercooled 4870x2 still has no problems with any games at max, 2048x1152.

B.) Buying an ATI card this week. Hopefully ontariotl's HD5970 . GPU folding isn't worth the power it takes and that most definitely comes to in to a card that has such high power consumption like the GTX480.
