I'd be really pissed if I settled for 480 and they released 512 core version sooner than a year from now.

I would love a 470 but it is not in my budget anytime soon. Way too many upgrades in the last few months. Will see around June or July :D

Dunno anymore.

My GTX260 Core 216 still runs my games nicely at 1680 X 1050. I was ready to buy FERMI 470...I mean REALLY ready, but now I hesitate. Don't want to hear the fan or "compulsively" open GPU-Z every 5 minutes to prevent a meltdown.

Why buying a HD5870 that is a 6 months old card and that kept it's launch price + premium...

Waiting a bit now!

When is the HD5890/whatever new ATI offering is supposed to come out? There must be a "counter-FERMI" up ATIs sleeves....

^^^ Yea I remember priot to purchasing my 280's I had purchased 2 x GTX 260 192 Cores....at the time I wasn't paying much attention to any Forums re: GPU's....well, as I was waiting for my 2 new GTX 260 192 Cores to show up I was floored when I went on DC Web Site and saw "New" GTX 260 Core 216's.....wtf..?!...Got a hold Brad at DC, didn't even "unpack" the new Cards when they arrives, sent them straight back to DC and purchased the 216 Core models.....beware of this with these 480's.....if thier capable of 512 Cores they'll likely come out next.....release of Core 216 was indeed about 3 months after 192 Cores...

(C). I have a Tri-Crossfire set-up, 5970+5870 (both watercooled), and will wait for the next gen/refresh from both companies before ''upgrading''. :)

Honestly, I'm a little bit disappointed in the 480, and after reading all the reviews out there, decided not to go 480 SLI.

I just wish ATI are still working on Crossfire scaling. It could defintely be better then it is right now. Alot of room for improvement. 480 SLI scaling is pretty good.

GTX 260 216 @ 1920X1200 is still enough for me right now. Mass Effect 2 plays great, even with 4XAA, and I still have a handful of older games (2005-2007) that I need to play. I'd also like to retain PhysX for Mirror's Edge, Batman AA, and GRAW 2.

Well I'm pretty sure that I will be getting a 470, well as long as I can manage to get one.

The thing is I am still running with a 8800GT and think that it is time to move up. I like what I see with the 470 and am pretty sure it will do me good for awhile.

C) I am happy with my 5870 and don't see it worth it to sell it, than buy a 480.
