E) I don't plan to upgrade yet, I need to see a bigger improvement before upgrading. Although, getting some DX11 would be great.

My decision will be based on the following data.
I am trying to be logical in my choices.
1) What will the competition look like on April 15th release date? I think AMD/ATI might narrow the performance gap and perhaps drop their prices.
2.) Based on the information released I will need a new power supply, new fans to adequately ventilate the case to protect the other components from melt down or should I go with a water cooler? What would be the total cost of this upgrade maybe not $600 Canadian but a $1000?
3.) SemiAccurate predicts limited availability and a limited manufacturing run. When it comes to Fermi, Semi-Accurate is better described as "Highly-Accurate" If true then the cost of these cards are going to increase dramatically in price.
4.)If Nvidia does a "base layer respin" to fix th0se transistor problems then waiting for the 512 instead of the 480 Fermi might be a very good idea.
5.) If I put my pre-order in will I be able to cancel it prior to shipping? I believe NCIX permits that but I've got to confirm it.

(a) an EVGA GTX 480 SC edition.

I run two GTX 280s watercooled right now.. whenever a watercooling block is avail for the 480 i'll pick one up.. or sell the 480SC and buy the FTW w/ waterblock - which ever makes most sense.

I could give a rats ass about power / heat / noise.. i've run 9800 GX2's in the past, they're loud and run at 95c. And from what i've read, they are 20 watts more than an ATI equivalent at peak.. and with the folding computers I have in my garage, I wont notice the power difference, lol.

C: Got a 5870 in Dec and I'll buy another as soon as the next round of price drops. No reason to change back to the Green Team for the forseeable future.

C for me. Got a 5850 and am VERY happy with it.

I am not impressed at all with the results hat Nvidia as thrown at us. It may be good at folding if you are into that but I am not. I want a lean mean GREEN card.....and this round that trophy belongs to ATI.

Still not 100% on either the 5850 or 470. Pretty sure I'll just wait and see what the situation is like when I get my taxes, and then impulse buy.

Silly me. I thought the trophy they gave out was for the performance crown, rather than the green-eco king.
