Before the gtx 470-480 reviews were out I was looking at a 5850, now however with the pre-order prices for the 470 being around $370, and video cards based on the 5870 being available for $400 (on sale) if anything I'm looking more at the 5870 then anything... Now if the 470's can be had for around the price of a 5850 on sale then that might be what I would look at.

If anything my preference is in this order, 1) 5870, 2) GTX 470, 3) 5850

By the way I'm ready to go for a full upgrade but if I do go with a 470 is there any truth there's issues running it on a pci-e 16 slot thats not version 2?

My System Specs

Using a Sapphire 5870 right now, performs the same as my friend's XFX 5870 except mine can overclock MUCH higher (but it all depends on the card you get anyways...)

Sapphire does actually sell Nvidia cards through it's sister company Zotac. I've always bought Sapphire cards as they are generally quite cheap. Quality has been very good, had to RMA one once. Received a new card in three weeks... no hassle at all.
