Visiontek 5850 for $280 at Bewawa.

In my opinion, the GTX470 would be the better card for you. However do you need all that power? Are you going to game 24/7? Can you live with that loud fan and crazy power usage and temperatures? If I answered all that, I'd stick to the 5850.

People are gonna be flocking out to buy this card the second it hits the shelf... then within 2 weeks of its release people are gonna either hate it or love it. Within 2 months of its release every bad bug and junk will be known. Just sit on it and watch what happens you're only stroking your own e-penis to rush out and buy brand new bleeding edge hardware. Besides weren't you the one complaining about heat etc in your suite?

Heat in my room, yeah, that was when i was folding 24/7 and in my own room. In a month or so i'm moving back into a good ol apartment that allows you to control the temperature of the rooms, i mainly want to upgrade while my current hardware will warrant the best resell value and get the best performance/cost gpu.

Currently can get 5870 for 400$ PCV Online - Sapphire ATI RADEON HD5870 1GB GDDR5 (Game Edition) ATI Radeon HD 5870 Chipset (850Mhz) 1GB GDDR5 (4800Mhz) Memory HD Audio Triple Display (Dual Dual-Link DVI) /HDMI/Display Port PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card - 21161-00-50R - Desktop Vid

^ This.

And their support is junk. I had a "special batch" of 4890 Vapor-X card that I had to spend this much to RMA. I say "special batch" because there was a small batch of a few that had boot issues, ie. defective from the factory.

Because it booted every time on one out of six motherboards I tried, and 50% of the time on another, they took very little pity on me.

Avoid Sapphire like the plague. I get XFX now when I can because of dual-lifetime transferable warranty. MSI is an option because at least they have RMA facilities here and a 3-yr warranty.

Definitely 5870. The power usage and heat output is far less than the GTX 2x0 and 4x0 series. And you can always try Eyefinity which I likes.
