I have the same motherboard as you and have never come across a need for touching those settings in the BIOS. I just use RivaTuner to increase my clock speeds.
I find "overclocking" the PCIe bus isn't as "safe" as overclocking the CPU. It's fairly standard procedure now to OC your CPU, motherboards/companies even advertise it as being able to do so. ASUS even includes that AI Booster stuff which automatically OCs your CPU/RAM.
