Any idea when we can expect sku's from the likes of Asus, XFX or MSi?

My contacts tell me the following:

XFX probably today or tomorrow
ASUS possibly a little bit longer
MSI unknown if there will be broad availability in North America

Also note that the PowerColor version is overclocked.

PowerColor model's been launched as well.
Massive Heatsink and a decent price point at 249.99 for an OC'd card -

Newegg.ca - POWERCOLOR PCS+ AX5830 1GBD5-PPDH Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ Eyefinity - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

@ Linus,
When do you think we will see these @ ncix? Do you have any idea what brands you guys will carry?

So much for picking up a pair of these to try out for a while. Too bad they dont perform like the the 4830 did for the 48xx series for the 58xx series.

A bit underwhelming, and that's been a shame because it puts a bit of a damper on what has been a good line of products from ATI. However, I do recall similar misgivings about the 4890 when it first debuted, with people decrying the price/performance ratio. It didn't take too long for a price cut to then make it a darling of the enthusiast community, so I figure a similar fate will befall this card in the coming months.

Alright ;) So it would have been total overkill!

Keep up the good reviews! I like them! and yes keep that AA chart! Very interesting!

I don't understand why some people would even consider going from a 5770 to a 5830. You wouldn't notice the difference. If you have a 5770 then I would only recommend upgrading to the 5850 as there isn't enough improvement. Even still a upgrade from a 5770 to 5850 is not that great unless you got it super cheap used. I never understand why people do small upgrade bumps.

We didn't really see any tangible oc results (like gaming benchmarks with oc'd cards).... Some might bank on saving a bit of cash for stock 5850 like performance? I'm sure once unlocked bios' become available we'll see some decent clocks and benchmarks out of these cards.

Nobody would upgrade from a 5770 to a 5830. However, people might consider upgrading to a 5830 instead of upgrading to a 5770.

Well it sounds like some people in this thread were thinking about it till the reviews came out.
