Default Newbie question for ATI HD5770 Catalyst drivers

Newbie question! Should I run driver sweeper or a similar program after I uninstall the 10.1 drivers? And if I need to, do I do it in safe mode (Win 7 64) ?? Also I found X code drivers on the Sapphire site? Could somebody tell me what they are?
SAPPHIRE- HOME
Thanks for the help
Jim

You are most likely to get very mixed answers on this one. Some are advocates of it and some say there is no need. Personally, I just use the full uninstallation tool that ATI provides from the Control panel and I've never had an issue.

Thanks Edge
Where do you uninstall from? Device manager/driver/uninstall or somewhere else?
Thanks
Jim

Well, all went well with the driver update to 10.2 but my Windows Experience Index dropped from 7.4 to 6.0 with just a driver change???
What happened?
Thanks for the help.

I had that as well. But seriously... Windows Experience Index...lol. Get a trial of 3dmark vantage or the like and do some benchmarking to really see what yea got.

I agree the Windows Exp isn't the best thing to use but having it give these readings after a driver change is a little daunting to a newbie. The bench mark programs will only drive me nuts trying to squeeze every bit of performance out of this thing. I already have more computer than I need.
Thanks everyone for all the help.

Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. There is an ATI Install Manager listed in there that will do what you need.
