Default I need your help to select my Gaming GPU

Ok I'm playing Stalker and few other FPS COD4 , Bad Company style game, 1 or 2 hours a week
don't plan to go eyefinity or Nvidia 3d Monitor 22" , I keep my best 24" for my WS, so gaming is not my best interest , frankly at the price the Fermi will be , it will be throw the money by the windows in my case

I'm quite satisfy of the performance of my 4890, may want a little bit more FPS , in Stalker CoP , and I have the 2 game of Crysis , but never play , I bought for the test bench

but I want to remove the 4890 for something that will fold better

So here the arsenal I have already

4 x gtx 260
2 x gtx 250

will not say no to buy ,

2 x 275
1 x 285

anyway I need more Folding power , but I prefer 260 or 250 for the cost/ppd ration

Board Asus Maximus III extreme x16 x8 x8 ( prefer this one )
or Asus Rampage Gene X16 x16
Can buy any 1366 , I have an extra CPU

So what you will do ( single, sli, single +physx, sli+physx )

An overclocked 4890 can get not far from 285 performance.

You should stick with the 4890. That's the reason I looked so hard to find one for a good price.

Mind you, I'm not sure about the 4890 vs nVidia in those specific titles, but the 4890 is a pretty powerful card as long as its working for you! :p

Thanks, I update my post, I forget to say , that I want to replace the 4890 for a better folding card, aside the ATI card take way to much CPU , when folding, so they remove also PPD to the CPU

I will use the ATi in my work station, no game install

I have no idea but I love reading your posts for stuff like this:

" frankly at the price the Fermi will be , it will be throw the money by the windows for my case"

You always make me chuckle, keep up the great work!

A GTX275 would be the sweet spot. It's the closest in performance to a 4890 without spending a ton of cash (GTX285).

For sure, and if folding is a concern, that is by far the best option :D

Even cards like the GTX260 from MSI can O/C like crazy and get mad performance for your $.

how I like it : what do you want for yours

serious I have question for you
1- do you use it in a case
2- if so do you have temps for me
I may plan to use them in a case it's why I ask,

I use it for fold on an Antec Skeleton, so open frame, the card fan is adjust at 100% , never see a GPU so cold . the cooling is so efficient on them, the card are cold, but they push a lot of heat around , when I sit at the desk where they are I feel the draft of hot air ,Ièm worry to use 2 of them in a case
