My System Specs

Default After Market cooling

is there any kind of aftermarket cooling for a card with 2 GPUs built onto it... like the Nvidia Physx card or the 3870 X2?? i have heard of doing two fans but how do you power two of them?

Newegg.com - ZALMAN VF700LED - CU 2 Ball LED VGA Cooling Fan with Heatsink - VGA Cooling

Unless you have it for few $$$ . I will not do it with this card..use the money a such cooler will cost you for your next card.. A side the GPU on the card are not the only one you need to cool. the voltage regulator get really hot. Memory will create all sort of problem , with bad cooling , if they don't dies before....

i would replace the thermal paste first w/ some good stuff ie: AC MX3, Tunic(??) TX2, IC whatever karat diamond paste.

On my AMD 5200+ system, i used the stock cooler w/ Tunic(??) TX2 and it dropped load temps by 10*C.

good idea, but I have some reserve, you have to know what you are doing, things can turn worst

If the space is too wide for thermal paste , you have to use pads. , I never remove the cooler of a 3870x2, but on many ATI pads on the voltage regulator is the only easy way, and don't reuse the old one
Stay away of the silver paste, if you not experienced. some of them can short things, very easy to apply to much on the memory.

But if you want my real tough , Kendall don't touch anything

Artcic Cooling makes some dual GPU coolers.... 4870 and 3870 IIRC.

yep, my friend has one for his 4870X2. They cool much better, but more importantly they're quieter. The fans come with standard 3-pin adapters, that you can attach to a fan controller or directly to your motherboard.
