Have 4890 upgrade to 5850 or xfire?

It's why I do not purchase anything yet to replace my 4890...and I try it in Xfire and sold the other one because it was not worth

the 4890 may drop to ..but let say the 5870 drop 100 $ and the 4890 $ 50 ...you still win.

Do you really think you can sell a used 4890 for $150 when a new one is only $40 more? I would run a 4890x2 set up if you already have a psu that can handle the load. 4890x2 would smoke a 5850.

If u look on this forum even they were selling for $170+shipping which was too much for me, but some people thought other wise, because it is now sold.
I would also be even more future proof with a 5850 cause i could crossfire that later lol.. but then i'd be in a constant loop, as to whether or not to buy the new 6800 series or something.. lol

Do you know anything about the processor capability of a stock i7 920? its only running at 2.6 Ghz, i heard that for crossfire 4890's to get the most benefit you need to overclock it

Always go for the single card as you are garanteed performance while with 2 cards you have to rely on drivers. The 5850 is a good card for 1920 x 1200 and you will not be dissapoonted.

I tend to agree with MarkOne. I've been debating getting a 5800 series card, but decided against it because of Nvidia. I don't think it is worth investing more money into a card that is only slightly better without looking at what is to come. Just my opinion, but I bet you'll get much better prices in the near future.
