my asus 250 gts have the core at 740 , the shader at 1836.... the PPD is now at 5,2 k ppd but climb often over 6,4 K ppd...what else you want more... you may try to much. all true I have no experience in GPU OC so take it as is

i have the core at 810 and the memory at 1200.. but the shader won't go farther than 1944... it irritates me.. and i can't install rivia tuner either. it says the Rivia Tuner server is still running on my machine.. if i could get rid of that i think i could oc it even more.. i just wanna know if its worth getting aftermarket cooling or not

I had the 512MB Model SC. I found Dropping the Core and Mem down about 100 each gave me more headroom for the Shaders.
Try that and see what happens.

talking at aftermarket cooling...my Asus run hot like hell. I have to open the case and put a 12" house fan . to throw air on it... unless a experiment member in GPU OC came to post here. I will recommend you slower you ambition on the OC of this card

By the way I like to see you start to fold

Edit.... an experiment GPU OC guy ( ST ) just comment at the same time I write my post try is idea

Usually because they are although seperate entities , Mem and shaders share resources on the Cards (I think if I remember correctly). Mem won't lower your PPD much if at all, so you might be able to get more.
On mine I got 210mhz OC on the shaders.

so in folding and gaming the mem on the card isn't as important as the shaders?
