I don't want to know Overall overclocking potential for a specific card as I could get them doing little research on the web (^^), I simply ask for your own experiment about overclocking in the HD 5000 series:

That's mean any of these card:

Hd 5670
Hd 5750
Hd 5770
Hd 5850
Hd 5870
Hd 5970

That's it!

using MSI afterburner, on my diamond HD 5770 i was able to hit 1075mhz core from 850mhz...it scored around 17,500 in 3Dmark06 with a dual core Xeon 3110 at 4.3ghz

it's a reference 5770 board, but it came with the reference 5750 cooler, which actually kept it at around 45C idle at those clocks, and i don't think it went over 60-70 under load... i have it at stock right now, cause i defaulted everything and reinstalled my OS when i put my Q9400 in...

Using the stock cooler and with good airflow in my CM690, I currently run my Gigabyte Rdeon 5850 at 850/1150 without issue using stock voltages and the stock bios.

I know of others who have gotten more than that out of it with voltage increases, but for all intents and purposes, right now, there is no point on running it any higher for me.

Check the System Specs to the upper right.

Cheers!

I recently got my Sapphire 5850, and overclocked it to 1000/1200 with voltage 1.21. I was just playing around with setting I've seen from overclocked forms so I might try to bring the voltage down if I can. I ran the Heaven Bench mark with dx11 and I got around 25fps with stock (resolution at fullscreen 1920x1080 with 4x aa) then at the overclocked setting it jumped to around 29 I think-I'm at work so I can't check. I can post some screens if anyone is interested.
