2900 PRO or 8800 GTS ?

I'm on the hunt for a new vid card and I was hoping to get some helpfull feedback on these two GPU's. These are in my price range and I will prob get one or the other unless one of you have one for sale cheaper. Also will the bios be able to be flashed to DX 10.1?:help: I picked these 2 due to being able to walk into mysterybyte (local shop) and grab one.

Sorry, I just saw the other post and it looks like the 2900 Pro is the better card from the comments. Please correct me if I am wrong though.

Yeah the 2900 is a lil better.

DX10.1, no. Better card, it is a much better card. I had a 320MB GTS and this HD2900 smokes it.

Yes but you have the XT and I was wondering about the 2900 PRO. I don't plan to overcock it.

HD2900 PRO is a better card and the architecture is geared towards DX10. The 8800 is better at DX9, but that won't matter in the near future.

Current games = 8800 GTS performs better.
Future games = Remains to be seen, but the HD 2900 has more potential.

I would probably get the HD 2900 Pro if they're relatively equal in pricing as it provides close performance in today's games compared to the 8800 GTS, *probably* better performance in tomorrow's games thanks to its architecture and increased amount of memory, and better features like HDMI output and tesselation. Only downsides to the HD 2900 Pro as far as I can see are noise, heat, and power consumption, all of which favour the 8800 GTS by a large margin.

Will these card run ok or will they be bottlenecked by an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ and 2046MB RAM?:help:

Well I got the 8800 GTS OC 320 and i'm quite happy with it and it works great.

the 2900 has more juice..that's the fact..also dc has it for like 250? great price..
