My System Specs

Default gts 250 heating problems

Hey everyone,

I've noticed recently my video card has been very noisy. The card (from PNY) would idle at 40-50C, and playing Modern Warfare 2 would spike is up to 76C. There would also be random slits and cuts in the screen during the gameplay. Is this regular for video cards under high loads with high temps to go along? The card right now is using its stock cooler. On idle, I would not be able to hear it, and just a super quiet humming from my Arctic Cooling Freezer7, but when playing games, I can hear from the upper floor of my house.

Thanks

Those temperatures are fine, but image anomalies (which are generally referred to as artifacting) are definitely not a good sign. Try using EVGA Precision or Rivatuner to manually raise the card's fan speed and see if that helps with the artifacting.
