is this a good idea to buy a oem gpu with a the block on it , like this one ?

why? it's not cheaper than any other 5870 + waterblock and you dont have the stock cooler if something happend(dead pump or something..)

but that is my oppinion

I guess one advantage are to buy all at the same place and same time, and you sure of the compatibility, but I read many place than often those cooler are not good, if I don't mistake it's a EK on this one , for the stock cooler you have a good point , but not for a pump reason, but to install on an other rig later.

but in fact, you can take any 5870 at ncix and the ek block

you can pm the block too

There is an advantage to buying a video card with a pre-mounted waterblock, and that advantage is that the card is covered by the warranty during usage in a watercooling setup, whereas a normal retail card is only covered while using the stock cooler.
