Wow, What a difference!

So I just popped off my stock gpu cooler for my asus hd4650 1gig low profile, replaced the TIM (nothing fancy either), and now I'm getting idle temps in the 40's (Celsius) and load temps in the 60's @ 30% fan speed.

I used to get high 60's idle and 102 load @ 100% fan speed! Wow...:punk:

Nice temp decrease but sadly you just voided your warranty I believe.....

there weren't any stickers or anything on the card that got in the way, so unless you tell ASUS what I did... I think I'll be okay.

Asus is pretty leniant when it comes to RMA. A clamp had broken off my watercooling loop and the board got completely douched in primochill fluid, and if you know primochill you know that lubricant in the fluid is damn near impossible to get off. The board was clearly damaged by that little boo boo and they gladly sent me a new board. And the best part - the RMA facility was in ontario so the turnaround time was less then 30 days.:thumb:

I'm all for warranty but when did that ever stop an enthusiast from modding their gear? We exist to void warranties! :) Nice drop in temps Cowboy.
