Default 250GTS problems

it seems that when i run left for dead on high settings.. even on lower settings it lags sometimes.. where as GRID goes too fast... the cars acceleration and everything is off.. im not sure whats going on.. i decided to turn off physx (i was using the CPU for PHYSX acceleration) and nothing happened... can some one tell me whats wrong? P.S. i can't really overclock cause the fan can't handle it.. its a loud and crappy stock fan..

specs:
4GB RAM DDR2
250 GTS with 1GB of DDR3 RAM
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ @ 2.97GHz
575 Watt PSU
500GB 3.0GB/s SATA drive
some POS reused IDE DVD drive
22" Wide screen @ 1680x1050

The Left4Dead lag seems like a CPU issue to me. Source engine games tend to be fairly CPU-intensive, and yours is a bit old, so it may just not be fast enough. I'm not sure about the GRID problem, but I recommend that you try reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work, try updating your video drivers, or if you're using the latest ones, reinstall them.

IDK... maybe thats how GRID is supposed to run.. and it just never ran fast cause of my outdated GPU

That's another possibility. Games generally seem "faster" when there's less lag involved.
