Currently have a 8600GT (eVGA 512mb DDR2 version) and was wondering what cards you guys would suggest. My system specs are in my profile and I'm leaning towards the eVGA GTS 250 1GB version. My PSU has 550w and 24amps on the 12v rail. It's old so it doesn't have any of the new PCIe power connectors so I'm trying to stick with a card that only uses one 6pin.

So if you guys have any suggestions that would be great, budget is around 150$. I'm open to AMD stuff as well. Thanks

On a fun note, my 8600 was idling at 70 degrees and peaking at 100 but now that I got rid of most of the dust, it idles at 45 and games at 60

i too have the same problem.. i went for the 250GTS...
this is the one i got:
Newegg.ca - EVGA 01G-P3-1158-TR GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

What problem did you have? How's the card working out for you?

I'm probably going to get the Corsair TX650W unless there is something better/deals. Thanks a lot guys.

Can't go wrong with it.

Go with the Corsair TX650W or if you want modular, Cosair HX520W.

Since you're getting a new PSU, still getting that new GPU?

I'm not going to bother with modular so I'm going for that Corsair PSU. Since this opens up more GPU options (PCIe pins and power) I might consider some other ones. Will update when I get the PSU installed.
