Default 5870 or 5850

hey guys i really want to jump on the eyefinity setup
and is considering the 5000 serise ATI card but the question is which


i want ot run triple mon setup and a nice avg frame rate /s
the games i play are WoW, MW2 l4d etc....

i ll be running them on 3x 24" with 1200 resolution
will 5850 be enough or i should go for 5870 ?

Ok, here's the deal,, 5850 is really only like 10(giveortake) frames under the 5870.. and its also $100 cheaper..

BUT, since you are running 3 24" monitors on higher rez's, the 5870 would be the better choice for this one

alright sounds fair to me, and in the future with the new driver just get another 5850 for x fire

i know, i had to go though this too,.. 100 for 10fps is not worth it for me., but right now the 5850 is kinda like playing exodia in a yu-gi-oh deck right now,. (lamen termss) its alwayz outa stock.
If you have the money buy the 5870,. if your low, buy the 5850, and Xfire later.. either way is not bad,.
BTW have you thought of waiting for nVidia's "Fermi" chip? (gtx300)

i could always wait and consider the gtx300 series
i personaly owns a GTX 285 ocx which was the former fastest single gpu before 5870
it is really nice too but the eyefinity feature looks really promosing to me and it is really
innovative. if the 300 serise also support 3x monitor setup or some other kool features i am open too all options
