Default Upgrade to a bfg GTX 295?

Hi all, I need some help on an upgrade question. Here's the deal, A friend offered me a bfg gtx295 for about 300 bucks or so, kinda needs a few extra bucks I guess and he don't use his pc much either. So other then just buyin it to help out a friend, would I see any benefit over my 8800gtx sli set up? Any advice would be much appreciated. Oh, and I only game at 1680 by 1050, 21' widescreen.

i think you would see some improvement from the jump up. Games that wont support sli, the single core 295 is still faster than the single card 8800gtx.

Actually the 295 is 2 cores, I think roughly equivalent to two GTX 275's. It would much faster than two 8800gtx but at 1050 may be a bit of a waste. Great deal on the 295 however.

You wouldn't see a substantial difference, if any difference, at your current resolution. You'd need to upgrade to at least a 1080p display to get a real benefit out of more GPU power.

You would get an improvement but not a whole lot to be worth the extra coin unless you want to play with something new. 2 8800 GTX SLI is about equal to a GTX 280 OC.

well for $300 bucks you can max out every freaking game out there. But then again it comes down to whole system specs.

go for it

At 1680x1050, there isn't much that you can't max out with a pair of 8800GTXs.
