Default HD2900pro preorder available @ NCIX

HIS Radeon HD2900 Pro 600MHZ 512MB 1.6GHZ GDDR3

$289.99

This is supposed to be the same as a 2900xt but slower clocks.
Price is very similar to the 8800gts 320. About $100.00 less than the 2900xt.

I dont know how well the card will compete but it looks to be at a good price point.
If the newer ATI drivers are improving as much as I have heard, this may be a very good price/performance option.

Cheers

Has anybody seen a review on one of these?

I'd really like to see how they stack up against the GTS, or even against my 1950pro for that matter. :)

As it stands, that price point is a lot closer to a mid-range card than anything we've seen in quite a while.

I was hoping for some performance out of the 8600 / 2600 series cards, but everything I saw suggested that I was better off with my 1950pro. This might fit right in there...... :)

With a bit of overclocking it outperforms an 8800GTS 320 in titles where ATI cards typically have an advantage, neck and neck in other titles save ones where NVIDIA has sponsored development and has a natural lead.

The 1950Pro isn't bad, but the 2900 Pro will smack it around.

HD2900 > 8800GTS in everything, especially IQ. I have owned both. Most of what you read online about hte HD2900 is total crap. It outgames the 8800GTS 320MB I had. The image quality is also definitely much better. 8800's performance improvements have leveled off with their newer drivers while the HD2900 just keeps getting stronger.

HD2900 PRO is the performance to dollar king.
