Believe me, I am guessing to, lol! Anyhow, the prices you quote are not totally unreasonable, although I'd be surprised to see it under $450 without a mail in rebate being the reason. We can all hope.......

Default Other option

The other option is to buy used in spring as there will probably be more avaliable 2nd hand when better cards are released. As far as i know the lifetime warranty of BFG or EVGA does carry over?

EVGA's warranty is only with the original purchaser that registered the card in the first 30 days of ownership. If you don't, then the EVGA warranty falls to 1 year again only for the original owner. They also require a copy of the original invoice as well.

BFG and XFX have the best lifetime warranties that transfer to the new owner. BFG doesn't require the invoice at all, and XFX has a 1 time transfer of ownership. I have also used RMA's with MSI without needed an invoice or registering.

Default well

thats great news for anyone who might want to buy my 8 month old BFG7950GTOC shipped in box with accesories for $105...it handles 1200 but just cant play bioshock fast at 1600- I do need to see if the GTX ive ordered actually works though-fingers crossed and ill post a pic up with my name on it.

Also good news for future BFG GTX owners!

Well never say never. 6800's can be had for under $100 so you could find an ultra under $100 but just have to wait :p

You can find 7800GTX's for $100 on Ebay if you look hard enough. That doesn't mean 8800 GTX will be that cheap (sub $450) in 3-4 months. a couple years, maybe. By Christmas, that is laughable.

Default i tend to agree

With BK and AMONs upper estimate for spring.... i.e. $450 lowest.

GTX's are currently hovering around $600 with some notable exceptions. Best deal Ive ever seen is 514 with rebate. They will pull from shelves if they drop below 450 that...doesnt make marketing sense to let your flagship crash down too much. Better to pull and put in a replacement. Otherwise people would just sit and wait for a price crash!!!
