Yes. If nVidia is lucky, TSMC will have their 40nm production issues dealt with by the time Fermi launches, but if not, they'll probably be in an even worse position than ATI is in right now since the GT300 GPU is much larger and more complex than RV870 and will therefore have worse yields (not to mention the fact that production capabilities will be split between ATI and nVidia GPUs).

Nvidia is in a bad place right now.

That is another reason why I am a bit frustrated: ATI has had every opportunity to put the screws to Nvidia but they have failed to capitalize. If there are still backorders when Nvidia previews Fermi VGA performance (REALLY soon), I can seriously see a ton of people jumping ship and waiting for the Fermi launch.

NVIDIA themselves has stated it will be 2010.

Man beat of a card, but deadly expensive. I know for obvious reasons people would choose a single card than 2 in CF.. But in current situation, like SKY said.. ATI is launching a new product, when they have a ton of back-orders on the 5870 card.. Foolish..

On the review, there are few who do the reviews but miss some aspects, some just don't know to do reviews.. SKY your are da best!! :p.. Great review man..

I'm lost. What's the significance of the circled portions on that Fermi card? I mean other than the fact that they show the differences between a mock-up and a running card...

Here's a little something that may explain the performance issues campared to the pair of 5850's
