You have to give them credit that's a beast. Well done ATI.

Very interesting. Impressive on most fronts, especially the idea that they're not skimping on the power circuits, but there are still a few niggling drawbacks that don't sit well with me. Probably a good thing I'm not going to spring for this, as I doubt it'll be anywhere to be found.

What's the story behind the fail's on the DX10 25x16/0xAA Crysis results for the 5970's? Driver FUBAR? Spontaneous combustion? I can see a few other oddball multi-GPU results, but those two stand out.

I know plenty of local stores that have a couple of the 5870 in stock, doesn't seem to be any shortages in my city of the 5870... Then again they seem to be a tad overpriced ($499) the couple places that have them in-stock.

Chilly I ordered from ncix because of the pp but I checked acouple other online retailers and didn't see any stock. I guess the stores that have them are going make as much as they can.

Hrm, so... I don't upgrade my case. Instead I crossfire my 5850 when they become available again in the coming months. Amazing card, but upgrading my case is going to be a $150-200 hit by itself, is it not?

When they are toe-to-toe like this... well, good to know.

WOW indeed. I'm glad they managed to control the power requirements, heat & sound.
Pretty amayzing really.
I can't afford it but it sure is fun to see that it has been built.
Another great review & THNX

Cool review! Will there be overclocked results coming up? It seems like many sites state that the OC'd 5970 is pulling far ahead of the Crossfire 5850's.

I'm glad I already have a 5870, teehee. Perhaps when I become even more insane I'll get this, drivers (as always) will need to mature a little first. However, Eyefinity on this card DOES work (albeit not on every title yet) so perhaps I'll be getting it sooner rather than later...
