Default Crossfire with the same card, different manu?

I want to use Crossfire with two HD 4870 but I have the original XFX one with the large heatsink that seems to be discontinued, if I want to get another manufacturer's one will I still be able to use crossfire? And how big of a powersupply should I get watt wise?

Any good 550W+ PSU will be fine for your setup. What kind of budget are you looking at for a PSU?

So just to get this straight, I can crossfire my HD 4870 with a 4870 X2 or a 4890?

For $100, this is what I recommend: Newegg.com - Antec TruePower New TP-750 750W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply - Power Supplies

if you use a 4870 x 2 ...it will make a tri crossfire...you better stick with a dual ...and I see no avantage to do it with a 4890
