That's more of an argument of whether ATi will ever make large improvements to their OpenGL performance on their FireGL models. The only advantage of using a FireGL over a Quadro is that their midrange models are somewhat cheaper, making them an easier pill to swallow for a home workstation. nVidia's "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" punchline is really an advertising push, rather an indication of qualitative advantages.

Not a bright idea to be favouring nVidia because of that annoying slogan that adds load time to each of my games.

I just got my HD 2900 XT 1GB from NCIX for $499, just keep your eye on the sales there and the sponsored sales here. It even came with the game plus that "blackbox" for HL2 Ep 2 and a few other games.

Default listed as $530 or so at ncix

Hi bK**i assume you did a price match to get it at that price...trouble is i dont know if i can price match when the company no longer has any stock at the cheaper price.

Actually, I got that price on this site with one of their sponsored deals. I'd try pricematching it too, there's a 50/50 chance they'll do it.

My System Specs

Default got the GTX

well-decided to go with the GTX-The BFG0C was a little cheaper. Power consumption swayed me in the end. Will overhaul the rest in spring.
