Im surprised thats a valid reason to RMA it. My 8800gt did that during folding, and my gtx275 does as well. On the 8800 the whine was associated with some component that has to do with the shaders. If i clocked the shaders down, it went away.

Hmm well i told em and they said I could. It's annoying because it happens 24/7 in demanding games. Just Reyes out crysis and it didn't stop

ok well I did some more tests and i am DEFINETLY returning this card. It whines in anything that actually uses it. 3dmark, crysis, borderlands, fallout, team fortress, ugh I now have a headache from the high pitched noise

Ok... anyone want to hear something absolutely bizarre?

After exchanging PMs, Goalieman077 and I have determined that we are in fact...

N E I G H B O U R S !

Not, like "Oh... I only live across town from you" or "Hey! I am just three blocks over"... turns out that, if I cross the street and walk 20 meters, I am knocking at his front f'ing door!

Seriously... someone do the numbers on that one and tell me what the odds are.

LOL

Cheers!

That is crazy. One time at six flags darien lake I was waiting in line for a roller coaster and was talking to the people in front of me. I asked where they were from and we both said Ontario. Then they said they lived close to London and I said I live in St. Thomas. Then from there we found out we both go to the same church lol. We were in a different country waiting in line for a coaster and don't know each other. That was crazy and we were even in the same hotel. So our families hung out with each other for the rest of the time and became friends. What are the odds.

If the cards are too anoying wait a bit till more come in stock. If you can try and get the 5970 because that card will be a beast.

Oh and as a side not my GTX260's are very quiet. They are some of the quietest stock coolers for any GPU I have owned. My 4870's were much louder so I don't know why people are saying nvidia is much louder because from my experience of owning both the 260 is quiet and so is my 280 GTX.

I know so weird, I will wait for the 5970 release but I hope to know release soon because I have to rma it first to get the cash then buy. Though I will now at least have a 3870 for waiting. Its not even thats its loud, the fan is quiet just the constant whining sound. It makes a much louder and higher pitech sound when starting up in high demand games like crysis which is normal. I don't even remember it doing this when I first got it...
