I'm curious as to why my laptop's GeForce 8600M GT 256MB is showing me a significant clock frequency disparity. According to
nVidia's official 8600M GT web page, the core/memory frequencies should be at 475MHz core and 700MHz memory, per channel, for the GeForce Go mobile video card. According to my laptop, the actual clock frequencies are at 475MHz core/400MHz memory, per channel. Does anyone have any information about this? Or do all mobile cards reflash to accommodate for more relaxed battery power consumption?
For the record, I've been a very long-time user of ATi graphics chips. This is my first nVidia product. The laptop artifacted terribly and then outright crashed when I attempted to ramp up the memory speeds to a more 'standard' frequency. Off the record, for comparison, you guys may be curious of knowing the laptop's 3DMark05 score, which was 5800 with a Core2Duo T7100.
Best regards
