I do this too! (To be honest, I play most games on the PC in the same way I would play it on a console). But for an FPS, I have the mouse and keyboard. For games like HAWX, I have the Xbox 360 controller. It's not just about showing off Crysis... it's about being able to play it and other games like it. It's about a quiet machine (my Wii is louder than my Antec 900 and 5850 combined). I still use the 360 and Wii, but only when the game won't be coming out for PC.

Troubleshooting is still a %$&%$ though, I'll grant you that.

I do this for some third-person (ie. Splinter Cell series), racing, and flight simulator games.

The supply for these cards are so low right now. ATI did well to promote the 5800 series.

Ebayers are aware of the shortfall in availability and are pricing their cards accordingly!

Cheers!

Are all of the 5xxx series cards that hard to get a hold of? I got my 5870 2 days after i paid for mine and a friend of mine got his 5770 pretty quick as well.

If you got in right at launch, you were ok, but you had to be quick. For myself, I got my Gigabyte 5850 the day the first shipment got to DirectCanada. That same day, they and NCIX sold out and I have not seen them have any Gigabytes in stock at all. When Sapphires arrived, I convinced my colleague to grab one and he did and again, by mid-day, they were sold out. As it stands now, since the card has been out for a while, demand is still growing and production seems to be down. So the net result is backorders and availability problems.

That said, there are cards to be had... but at a price premium.

Cheers!
