It took my XFX 5850 about 1.5 weeks to arrive to me from order time, I almost forgot about it and then today it shows up at my door. Excited to finally have this thing. I had ordered an Asus 5850 before that, but got tired of waiting and cancelled that order.

Good work jdok.

I didn't get in fast enough on the 5850. I already have one in my rig but I wanted to add another. DirectCanada told me I'm 15 or so on the Back Order. I told them "no worries". It will be a nice surprise when the card shows up at my door unexpectedly. Kinda like finding a 20$ bill in the pocket of a winter coat when you take it out of the closet.

Cheers!

Looks like it was a FAB issue: Shortages everywhere, prices rising.

You know...

When I bought my Gigabyte 5850 and then installed it, I said to myself: "These cards are going to be hard to come by because the performance is so good and the price is reasonable." Then a few days later, I saw that DirectCanada had a bunch of Sapphires in stock and what did I do? I went down to my colleague's office and told him he should order one STAT! I thought to myself: "Maybe I should get another right now and just not tell my wife", but I decided not too.

Happily, my colleague did get his card *and it runs great*, and now I am jonesing for Xfire.

That said, I am going to just sit tight. I don't really want to pay more than 300$ for a 2nd card when the first runs so well as it stands. It's just...

I WANT ANOTHER 5850!

LOL
Cheers!
