I heard the yield on their 40nm proccess wasn't as good as they needed to keep up demand, but they're still making money.

Actually, the fact that they've less 5850's than 5870's might actually suggest that yields are fairly good, that they're able to qualify the chips for 5870's duty, rather than binning them lower.

the 5850's are great cards...
But yea, there seems to be a shortage of waffers.... I guess Sky was right... if you see one scoop it up lol. *caugh caugh see my thread caugh* lol (sorry, had to)

FYI

On page 1 I had posted that I had found a vendor that had some in stock. Upon further investigation, it turns out that their definition of "in stock" is "back ordered but we'll ship when we get one." THAT's why I buy from DirectCanada and NCIX.
