buying new gpus!
 

right now im running 2 x 8800 gts sli

how big of a jump will i be making if i 2x sli either:
evga 250
or evga 260 216 core??

What resolution? What games?

For the first, extremely little. Especially if the 8800GTS's are the g92 core variants, since the 250's use the same core. 260's will definitely be stronger, but it's going to depend on the game. A bigger gain might come from having more video memory, since SLI gives you some muscle to actually use it.

What resolution are you running? Imo, if you want to upgrade, get the ATI 5850. It'll be way better than running SLI GPUs.

the only upgrade worthy for you right now is the 5870 for $400CAD or wait to see what nvidia's got to offer next year.....

Running 1680x1050. Most recent games: red faction guerilla, nfs shift, re 5. The 8800gts are 512mb each and are made by pny.

Tehre's no reason why you can't go ATI...What makes you think that you can't go ATI?

doesnt nvidia chipset not mix well with ATI gpus?

Uh where have you been...:doh: Go read any review out there or anything...NVIDIA chipsets limit you to using just NVIDIA GPUs when you want to run multi-GPU configurations. If you want to use a single GPU, there's no problem...
