My System Specs

Default Only costs $50 less than a 5870

Future Shop: Computer Add-Ons: Sound & Video: BFG GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB PCI-E Video Card

They have 3 in stock in case you are wondering if this price is too good to be true!

Heh... yeah, well somebody must be buying them, or FS wouldn't be selling them at that price... :)

Honestly though, who buys hardware from FS??? Printers, laptops, or monitors, sure, but not freaking hardware unless it's some form of freak ultra-sale.

Not 50$ less, 16$ less.

I like to look at hardware at FS, that way I feel good about the parts I buy, makes me feel like I got an awesome deal

Wow, you guys get some good prices out east, and they're in stock too. Calgary's Memoryexpress is pricing the XFX 5870 for $449.99 and they're sold out!

Ah, those poor saps who buy from Futureshop and think they will get top-of-the-line graphic card...

I wonder if we can leave a review for the card that says: This was a great video card... back in early 2008!

PS: The 4850 is selling for $268.97!! It's only 2x the price of local computer stores.

Some idiot would buy that just because it's the most expensive card they sell. Even the GTX 275 costs less

I remember when the 4870X2's came out (or maybe it was 3870X2's... well it was an ATI X2 card) Futureshop actually had the lowest price by about $50. They must have left off that extra "x 2" on how they calculate their prices.

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=222258...Y%20Technology

NCIX has one for $340.....So you can't bash FS that much over this one...Just sayin.....

That being said, I asked a salesperson that was working in the Computer section if they had any SSD's and he didn't know what that meant.

I think that is a supplier SKU (special order item). Which is priced by the supplier. It's definitely not in stock anymore in ncix.

Or maybe nvidia didn't update the pricing for their discontinued products so anyone can price it whatever they want?

I'd buy a GTX 275 there if it was the same manufacturer code and price match. Only price matching at FS! 10% of the difference.
