lol nice MacJunky just saw a review about the eyefinity and well AMD is working on an adapter that will work to run 3 x dvi so you won't need a display port monitor sometime in the future, as they have it working on 3 x dvi with a beta adapter.

I use Eye Infinity with three WUXGA monitors. That's 5760x1200 pixels, it's the best thing I have done for gaming in years! The 5870 has no problem driving those pixels on my computer. I am very happy with it although I do think the drivers need to mature. For instance there is no bevel management, and there is no ability to open a window fullsize on just one monitor, instead it spreads across all three. I say go for it, I am not looking back. Surround gaming is where it's at.

Hi Dan, and welcome to the forums!

What connection types are you using with the monitors? Do you happen to be using an active DP - DVI adapter that works? Thats the real thing holding me (and many others) back from jumping into the Eyefinity game.

Hold on. Why do you need an adaptor for the 5870? The card has dual DVIs and dual HDMI ports; the Display Port is only on the 5870X2, me thinks.

edit: my mistake, DP and HDMI, not dual HDMIs.

And for ANY Eyefinity configuration, you have to use the displayport + 2 others (dvi/dvi or dvi/hdmi).

welcome to the forums Dan and whats the full model number of your monitors and as another person asked, do you have an active dp to dvi adapter working?

I have read around that the one from dell works but its $100, which isn't bad it does save money on actually buying 3 monitors that have display port (just so all 3 monitors match) which would be $2000 or just buying two more of the 24" Samsung I have and the adapter which would be $700 roughly.

Hi, I am using Dell 2408WFP monitors. They have pretty much every connector you could ever need on the back! I use one DP and two DVI cables for the connections.

I was going to try CRYSIS but I had that stupid "mouse" bug in the menus so I just became frustrated and uninstalled it. I mainly play ROF, details maxxed, 5760x1200 resolution. Not a single hiccup.

I haven't even installed my 5870 I bought the other day. I need to remove the watercooled 4870x2 in which I will sell off soon.

Reading all this Eyefinity stuff made me make the plunge. I have 23" LG monitors on the way as well as a buddy who is ordering me the active DP to DVI adaptor mentioned on a few forums that work well.

I hope its worth going from 32" back down to 3 23" monitors.
