XFX is BY FAR the best. I wouldn't touch any other company unless they were a lot cheaper. XFX you get double life time warranty so you can sell it at a higher price and the second buyer gets the comfort of having a lifetime warranty. XFX is also the only company for ATI that allows the consumer to change the heatsink without voiding warranty. XFX also has some good looking designs on their cards. Not some aninme character that looks dumb. XFX has overclocked cards along with none refference cards. The only downside is the are usually more expensive but it is worth it.

XFX for warranty, period. Sure they're not always the top performing cards, but they're never bad. And I'd rather a warranty I can depend on than a card that performs 2% faster but dies in a year and I can't do anything about it.

XFX b/c they sent me some adaptors for free and responded to all of my inquiries however stupid they might be.

XFX because of the double lifetime warranty and the mod friendly policy.

I also appreciate Sapphire's nice cooling solution, but as others said, a rock solid warranty is hard to beat.

At one time I would have said ABS (anybody but sapphire) but they seem to have made great improvements to their NA customer service / RMA procedures, and I'm willing to give them a fighting chance again.

In most cases, ati cards are reference models with only the higher end cards setting themselves apart from the pack based on non-reference cooling. Extra warranty is nice, but I'd only be looking at coverage for aftermarket cooling, I doubt very much I'd be returning a card after 1 year of beating the crap out of it folding 24/7.

Long story short.... unless I liked a particular cooling solution (like my HIS IceQ3 3870) I'd go with best price.

I admit I've always been a bit of a Sapphire follower. From my 9600 pro, to my x600, to my x1950 pro, to my hd 3870, I've been on Sapphire GFX cards for a bit now.

My complaint with Sapphire and my 3870 was the bios issues. I disliked the fan throttling so much, I changed GPU coolers.

This time around however, I am going to give other ATI partners a chance with the 5850. Like many here, I am liking XFX so far.

Since I have a window on my CM690 (which I may swap out for the stock side panel again depending on the air flow needs of the 5850), I think that cosmetics is important in a GFX card. So, if I find it ugly, it's not an option.

So yep, for the stock 5850s, it's a ffa because the coolers all pretty much look the same.

Cheers!

Had both of these cards from sapphire, neither would run at stock speeds without artifacting / crashing. Aftermarket cooling (AC) for the 9600pro solved the problem, and the 1950pro took 3 RMAs before I finally got a rev2 with new VRM.

That's when I switched over to HIS for my 3870.

The bulk of my Ati cards have been Sapphire, and other than some really pathetic stock cooling on some of them, I haven't had any problems with them. I've heard their CS can be a nightmare though when things do go bad. (9800Pro, x1950Pro, 2x HD3870, 1 of my current HD4770's)
