For that Res this probably suffice

Thats a good price for the 55nm SC version.....not sure about the ATI Cards, perhaps those boys will chime in...

btw Be careful with Newegg.ca...seems by the time all is said and done thier seems to be a pretty substantial "shipping and handling" fee...

I stick to NCIX, DC or Bestdirect...don't forget to "pricematch" if you use NCIX..

GTX 260 216 is a good choice for today's games at that resolution, but if you want a little more juice to get through some future titles try the GTX275. BTW, they are also GREAT folding cards.

They'll all be excellent at that resolution. It's tight race for first between the GTX275 and 4890, with the 4890 coming ahead more often in this reveiw. -> Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 Review
I say go with your gut on this one.

If you fold, get an Nvidia card. If you don't, I'd be tempted to get that 4890 with the HDMI connection and the Zalman cooler.

For 1680x1050, a single 4870 or GTX260 is more than enough. However, out of those cards the 4890 is the best, unless you're a folder as SugarJ mentioned.

Yeah like SugarJ said, that Gigabyte 4890 is an amazing card. The Zalman cooler is really well fastened, looks hella nice with the nickel black plating, and runs cool. Me and my buddy just built his pc with it, and its beats my 260 o/c by about 10 fps in most games. The HDMI connection is a nice feature too.
