5870 has better power efficiency, support for future games. If your wallet can handle it get a new monitor first

Keep the 4870x2 unless your epeen urges you to buy the 5870.

As Sqeets said....get a better monitor...higher Res = reason for better GPU.

I see nothing but a huge OMGWTFLMAOBBQMISSILE from this.

Dude if you think looks really matter, I'll have to say that the 4870X2 looks pretty damn sexy, as well as the 5870. And you have it completely mixed up man.

First off, single GPU is better than dual GPU. It's much more reliable compared to having a Crossfired pair. Minimum frame rates really count, especially in games where there is a lot of action going on. Ever see the chart and compare minimum frame rates of the 4870X2 and 5870? The 5870 wins every time pretty much.

Secondly, who cares about points. It may be good for benchmarking, but in reality it's just hype. I care more about frame rates in games more than I do about the points I get on 3DMark or PCMark or whatever. This also comes to the point why Nvidia cards can do better in benchmarking as well. Is there something wrong here? No. It's just the way the cards process the benchmark that shows the difference in points as well as PhysX (which ATI does not have). Another thing to consider is, according to HWC , the PPD a card achieves when folding. However, this is irrelevant to this thread.

To answer the OPs question though. Your 4870X2 is perfectly fine, but I wouldn't hold on to it any farther than Nvidia's release, as we will probably see a drop in prices then. That is if you want to sell it. Keep your 4870X2. It's a great card for gaming!

hohohee, you really gotta stop giving comments like that when even you can't answer your own questions, which we think are almost spam-like. You ask the most irrelevant questions that don't really need an answer. Think before typing. Oh yeah, and where the hell did those numbers even come from? BS if you ask me.
Ha..BBQMISSILE...?
Isn't this the same fellow (kid)....that was asking about 3 x 285 or 2 x 295 using a 750W PSU???

haha you got it all wrong. that previous post wasnt sarcastic at all if you think it were. ahahhahahaha.

actually why i made that 750w quad 295 is just to confirm if im the only one that disagree. theres something trigger me to make that thread.

i surf around the net and found someone in other forum claiming that high quality brand of 750 watt psu can handle two gtx 295 in quad-sli. i was amused in a laughable way. so i figure ill ask you people here and see if im the only one laughing or not.

sarcastic is hard to tell. sometimes people think it is sarcastic when it wasnt intend to.
