What are safe Video card temps ?

I have a BFG 9800 GT OC at it's stock speed GPU Core clock 625, Memory clock 900, and Shader clock 1566.

I also have GPU-z and it's showing that my cards idle temp is 62C and at load playing WOW the temp goes up to 69C.

Are those temps in the normal range or are they to high.

Under 100-105C usually is ok, preferably under 95C :)

Your temps are fine. The Nvidia cards thermal throttle at 105 degrees. I try to keep mine under 80 using fan settings, of course now that my card's under water it's not an issue.

Same as me, under 80 target, up to 90-95 isn't that bad either. Your's are plenty fine.

my 9600GT idles at 41 and loads upto 75 on stock fanspeed setting. What others have said is true.

I have had a card running at 100 for a long time and it is fine.

My BFG 8800 GT runs ~85 at load. Under 90 is my preference.

I get nervous with my GTX 285s running at 82c folding 24/7. If it reached that once in a while then no problems, as others have pointed out these cards seem designed to handle 100c.

If you are messing with your shaders and clocks try pumping up the fan speeds anyways (Riva tuner could do this). I am currently running my fans at 90%.

I have my shaders maxed (before they hit artifacts) and with max load (511s and load testing) i never see my temps go over 65C with fan only at 70%, so either i got an amazing card or i haven't a clue why i get great temps with temp heat sink on the card

hmm my 4870 x2 will idle at 72C... it loads around 90 till the fan kicks in... my theory is... as long as the cables near your GPU aren't melting, your good!
