Default crossfire question

would it be possible to crossfire a 4870 x2 and a 3870 x2, or is their incompatibility? If it is possible would it make much of a difference ( im guessing is like crossfireing a 4870 x2 and a 4850)

My System Specs

They have to have the same core in order to be Crossfired, and they don't.

According to the AMD Crossfire chart it doesn't look like you'll be able to mix the 4800 and 3800 series of cards. Looks like I can't include a link on my first post but you can find the chart on the AMD site.
