Default 7800GT = ok for HTPC/HDTV/Bluray/???

My old Video card is an MSI 7800GT. I have an AC Accelero cooler on it, no fans.

I know this supports 1920X1080 res. but is it "Good Enough" to properly run bluray, or any other high def video?

I will be making some upgrades over the summer and may set aside some old hardware for a HTPC. Thanks.

The 7800 GT does not support HDCP as far as I know so you can forget about using it to watch Blu Ray movies.

Not a chance in hell there But I am looking for HTPC use, so I care not about that. However I do care about the lack of HDCP Is there a decent way to bypass HDPC ?? The card is paid for and silent, so it would be such a GREAT fit.

depends what CPU you have. something dual core with 1.8ghz should do the trick

as for video acceleration or HD enhancements the 7xxx series have nothing to offer.

I watch 720p on FX5500, CPU does all the stuff for encoding.
